With the purpose of promoting theological research and dissemination, on Tuesday, May 6th, the activities of the Unionist Honor Society for Theological Research (SUHIT) of the Faculty of Theology of the Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU) were inaugurated.
The opening program was attended by 115 participants, among them teachers and students of the aforementioned faculty, in addition to members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The attendees participated in a lecture and a seminar given by a student and a professor, respectively.
Also, the presentation of the board of directors was made, which is led by Pr. Benjamin Rojas, SUHIT Advisor.
In recent years, research has been an important indicator of the quality of education. In this context, UPeU encourages research as part of its academic requirements.
Thus, SUHIT promotes theological research because through it, students will achieve various competencies such as the development of critical, self-critical, creative, cognitive and methodological skills; and the ability to learn and update themselves permanently, among others.
In this way
It is important to mention that the entire doctrinal basis of the SDA Church is the fruit of theological research; therefore, it is important to train theologians who are passionate about going deeper and deeper into the Bible.
