The goal of the diploma is to train professionals who are able to design innovative health promotion programs to change the lifestyles of people and communities. Also, that they guide and advise people effectively in order to achieve lasting changes in health.
The opening program was attended by the administrative staff of the Graduate School. Among them, Dr. Lili Fernández, director; Dr. César Gálvez, director of the UPG of Public Health, and the teachers and students, who met through the Zoom application.
Likewise, it was attended by Pr. Abimael Obando, Department of Health and Temperance of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the north of the country.
Health professionals participated too as part of the student group, among them: nutritionists, nurses, church leaders, and educators.
“The diploma will provide knowledge at all levels of complexity about behavioral change. Because of that, it will be an experience in which each of the students can improve their lifestyle ”, mentioned Dr. Gálvez.
Dr. Fernández, also expressed: «We are going to initiate an important change in our country», and motivated the attendees to be health promoters, promoting good life habits and spreading the knowledge of healthy principles.
The program was presented to the group of professionals in Psychology who will provide counseling for transformational change in health and to national and international teachers.
The program also had the participation of Dr. Daniel Jiménez, a specialist in public health and professor of the diploma, who gave the Module entitled «Health Promotion and Lifestyle».
