The Consultorio Médico Unión of the Universidad Peruana Unión received a visit from the Ministry of Health through the DIRIS Lima Este (Directorate of Integrated Health Networks) in order to enter the process of categorization of health facilities.
The operating team of DIRIS Lima Este, formed by Psychologist Marco Vargas and Architect José Gabilondo, toured the facilities of the four clinics to be evaluated: Medicine, Nursing, Psychology and Nutrition.
The office is under the direction of Doctor Roger Albornoz and María Díaz, as an assistance nurse, accompanied the commission and showed the different environments.
During the tour, the DIRIS representatives mentioned that the Consultorio Médico Unión has very good possibilities to provide health services to the student population in its four specialties.
In this way, the equipment, infrastructure, human resources and clinical processes were verified to determine the level of complexity and resolution capacity of the clinic. In addition, some recommendations and guidelines were provided.
The report will be sent to a technical team for evaluation and then the respective categorization will be given.
It is important to mention that categorization is a process of classifying health facilities according to levels of complexity and levels of resolution. In this sense, the DIRIS, according to human resources, equipment and processes, will provide a defined category to the Consultorio Médico Unión.
In this regard, Doctor Albornoz mentioned that «This will allow formalizing the processes of care, coordinating with other institutions in a more formal way and at the same time will allow initiating a whole process to reach the construction of a university hospital».
In this way, the evaluation for the categorization of the Consultorio Médico Unión, which aims to provide comprehensive care to students, workers and teachers, was carried out.
