The repository preserves and organizes scientific and academic materials to support research and learning. At the same time, it guarantees access to information in Open Access mode.
As an institution, it allows for greater visibility and prestige, as well as a permanent record of academic and research activity.
In order to improve the quality of repositories, in 2020 the National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (CONCYTEC) approved the «Alicia 2.0 Guide», a technical document that defines the criteria for the implementation and assessment of institutional repositories and the registration of metadata.
In this sense, the UPeU Repository had a positive appraisal and in August 2021 obtained the status of approved by Concytec, thus complying with the adequacy of the new guidelines «Alicia Guide 2.0». This will allow interoperability with the ALICIA National Digital Repository.
This assessment was based on seven criteria: visibility, policies, legal aspects, metadata, interoperability, logs and statistics and security, authenticity and data integrity.
The UPeU Repository continues to be part of the RENARE (National Network of Open Access Digital Repositories of Science, Technology and Innovation).
The UPeU Repository began in 2016 and has 4 461 registered research papers, which are part of five main collections: Specialty, Bachelor’s, Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD.
