With the purpose of joining inter-institutional cooperation alliances, the Universidad Peruana Unión Campus Tarapoto and the Municipalidad Provincial de San Martín (MPSM) signed a cooperation agreement between both institutions for the fulfillment of the urban development goals of the province of Tarapoto and its districts.

The signing of the agreement took place in the Hall of Degrees and Titles of the university campus where the distinguished presence of the authorities of the UPeU and the Municipalidad Provincial de San Martín  was headed by Architect Tedy del Aguila Gronerth, Mayor, who along with his councilors thanked «the opening of these spaces for dialogue and agreements which not only seeks to strengthen relations between the institutions, but also contributes from our positions to the welfare of our citizens».

Dr. Roussel Dávila, director of the UPeU Campus Tarapoto, mentioned that «the university through the Professional School of Architecture will provide support for the field survey, student personnel and technical and technological equipment for the use of the plan of activities developed by the municipality».

Jhon Harol Gonzales, coordinator of the Professional School of Architecture, expressed his satisfaction to know that «this agreement will be a great opportunity for our students in the pre-professional internship stage, since they will be able to develop research that will improve the optimization of municipal management in the city’s works».

It is important to mention that in the Hall of Degrees and Titles this event was attended by a student from each degree program offered by the UPeU Campus Tarapoto, one of them was the student Sofia Herrera of the 5th semester of marketing who mentioned that «it is gratifying that we are given the opportunity to demonstrate what we learn in each class because that is how we will provide solutions to the real problems that exist».

The agreement signed has a duration for 4 years and it seeks to facilitate spaces for collaboration between the institutions.

In addition, it will allow students not only to contribute with knowledge and solutions, but also to demonstrate through their actions that they have an integral formation with Christian values and principles.
