Universidad Peruana Unión trains professionals to be agents of change in society. For this reason, the university community participates in various activities around five strategic axes: Spiritual Development, Integral Formation, Linking with the Community, Management and Research, Development and Innovation.
Within this framework, on Thursday, August 5, the Program of Assessment of the Annual Operational Plan (POA) 2021-I was developed in the presence of administrative staff and deans of faculties, directors and coordinators of school and Graduate School of Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU) in its three campuses Lima, Juliaca and Tarapoto. The objective was to present the initiatives, activities and goals by axis and academic unit.
Thanks to the efforts of students, alumni and faculty researchers, to date the UPeU has 143 scientific publications published in SCOPUS. Researchers participate in 32 research groups, continuous training either corporately, by faculties, professional schools, and individuals. All this guarantees the growth of publications. Likewise, there are 23 research professors qualified by Concytec and research journals. During the 2021-1 academic year, scientific conferences, training sessions and workshops on internationalization of research were held.
On the other hand, 110 projects and programs were carried out in Lima, Juliaca and Tarapoto. Students actively participated in projects such as: «Oído amigo», «Pata Dakú», «Ayuda humanitaria Cerca de ti», «Combatiendo la anemia infantil»; Webinars and other online workshops.
UPeU is concerned about the spiritual development of its students; therefore, it has 79 organized small groups who participate in various activities such as: Easter Week, 10 days of prayer program, 40 days of preparation program, weeks of prayer, blood donation days, among others. Also, visits were made to students through video calls in orderto share messages of hope.
In 2021-1 there were around 10,671 students enrolled in the undergraduate program and 1,136 students in the graduate program who participated in the induction program as the opening of the academic year, training in the PATMOS platform and Lamb university. Teachers were trained in 11 programmed workshops in which national and international speakers were present. In addition, the Pedagogical Consulting Room was opened.
The Employability Week was successfully carried out with the participation of students and alumni who interacted with various well-known companies such as ADRA Peru, Sodimac and Maestro, Telefónica Tech, Clínica Good Hope, among others. It is also important to highlight the academic internationalization through academic mobility agreements.
In this way, the evaluation day POA 2021-1 emphasized the various activities carried out taking into account the impact and mission that this university has on its students and the community.
