Students of the third cycle of the Systems Engineering Career of the Universidad Peruana Unión Campus Juliaca, developed a web application for the Association of Agricultural, Agro- food and Hydrobiological Producers of Puno (ASPAAH). This association is in the process of digitalization and this portal will be of great help to achieve its objectives.

This tool will benefit more than 1,500 producers of different characteristics in 5 districts of the region. It will enable them to effectively control and monitor their livestock and agricultural production processes.

The project was implemented under the direction of the Systems Engineering teachers of the course «Programming Language I» during the 2021-I semester. In addition, the students in coordination with the ASPAAH authorities developed the website according to the specific needs and requirements of the sector.

Engineer Luis Yucra, coordinator of ASPAAH, mentioned the purpose of the web page: «The web page is an open window to communicate to the local, national and international market everything we are producing. On the dairy and livestock side, processed products such as cheese and yogurt. On the agricultural side, the production of potatoes, oca, quinoa, etc. Also hydrobiological products such as carachi, pejerrey, and trout.»

In addition, he saluted the support of UPeU in this project: «We appreciate the interest of UPeU’s teachers and students in joining this project and who are now part of this family.» Finally, the importance of cooperation between university and community was highlighted: «For there to be greater production it is necessary to support the productive sector. The producers have needs and the university has the knowledge and if we get together we are going to have very good results.»

It is worth mentioning that this is the result of the multidisciplinary work of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and its concern to extend and provide help to the communities throughout the axis of Linking with the Environment.
