The Universidad Peruana Unión Campus Tarapoto is characterized by imparting Christian principles and values to society, and as part of this teaching is participating in a great support in the first river boat of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (IASD) for the north of the country: «Messengers of Hope» that will sail the waters of the Huallaga and Marañon rivers, bringing salvation and welfare to the communities of Loreto.

The opening of this great project took place in an inauguration program with the presence of Dr. Roussel Davila, director of the UPeU Filial Tarapoto, Pr. Daniel Montalván, President of the Northern Peruvian Union; Pr. David Chilón, President of the Northeastern Mission and other administrators of the different institutions of the IASD.

Dr. Roussel Dávila emphasized the importance of this project in the social field, where the young university students, through the volunteer system, will carry out their internships and take humanitarian aid to all the communities in the region.
