On Saturday afternoon, April 17th, a conference was held to launch the health evangelism project «I want to live healthy». The event was held virtually and gathered the faculty and students of the Faculty of Theology of the Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU).

The conference was developed with the purpose of promoting the practice of healthy habits, through various programs and strategies.

The event was led by Dr. Roel Cea, leader of this project in Mexico, who made the official presentation of the program through the Zoom application.

Also present were the teachers and students of the Faculty of Theology, and the administrative staff of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of East Lima.

There was an active participation of 180 students who asked questions at the end of Dr. Cea’s presentation.

In this way, the program «I want to live healthy» will be implemented with a project called 8×8, which consists of practicing one of the eight healthy habits for a week. For this purpose, WhatsApp groups will be formed where teachers and students will practice this challenge and then share it with the members of the churches to be health promoters and share with others the benefits of having a healthy lifestyle.

It is important to mention that the «I want to live healthy» project includes five programs and ten ministries and the idea is to implement them progressively. This plan was originally created by a group of doctors and pastors 12 years ago in Mexico.
