Coincidentally, this date is also significant in the history of Peru. It was on October 22nd, in1825, when the liberator Simón Bolívar founded the newspaper «El Peruano». A communication media that will celebrate 196 years of foundation this year and is the oldest newspaper in Peru and Latin America.

Within the framework of an initiative of the Universidad Peruana Unión, entitled Docente Estrella, the School of Communications extended an invitation to Lic. Félix Paz Quiroz, director of the prestigious newspaper El Peruano. This type of presentation, according to Mg. Nick Brañez (director of the mentioned School), aims to strengthen the competencies of the students, through specialized and highly competitive professionals.

On this occasion, Lic. Félix Paz developed the Neutrality, Equality, and Transparency seminar, where he exposed the impartiality that the media evidenced in the context of the recent Peruvian electoral process. Likewise, he summarized the long history of the origin of the newspaper «El Peruano» and the recognitions obtained, such as the ones given by the Ministry of Culture, which declared its documentary collection as a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
