And it is that, as Dr. Salomón Huancahuire, DGI director (UPeU Research General Direction) affirms, when we look at the subject of scientific production worldwide «we will find that it occurs mostly in Europe and the United States» while Latin American countries appear in the last places in the ranking. But this, which has been a historical problem, has begun to change and we can see evidence of this at the «Universidad Peruana Unión».

The director of DGI, shares a table where you can see the notable increase in scientific publications in the prestigious Scopus Database (check the image linked to this note). We observe that in 2019 there were 22 scientific publications and that in 2020 that number doubled to 52 publications. We are in the middle of the year and, by this date, there are already 43 publications made. These results paint an optimistic picture. What once was a problem has become a possibility.

If we include the recent event held at the UPeU: «X Conference of Scientific Research of Students of the UPeU», to this scenario, it is perceived that the path of scientific research looks very promising. In this student day in which the Faculties with their different Schools have participated, important investigations have been registered.

«These works are part of what we know as» Formative Research «and are deposited in a database owned by the DGI,» Dr. Salomón Huancahuire finally tells us.
